The newest player to be added to the roster of, NXL Franchise Team, Chicago Aftershock is Adam Farej. At 18 years of age Adam is the youngest of the current roster. It was hard coming up through the ranks of Chi-Town Ballers to reach the pinnacle of the Chicago paintball scene.
Being a product of Badlandz from start to current. Adam has a unique place in Midwest paintball history. The very first game he ever played was at The Badlandz, now he has a starting rotation position on one of the most winning teams in history. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time this has ever happened. While we have had several people gravitate to Badlandz, seeking the best competition the Midwest has to offer and ultimately playing for Aftershock. To be able to say you had never played anywhere else is a huge statement.
For years Badlandz has spawned the Midwest's best teams and best players (no other field is even close). Now, with tournament paintball being more popular than ever, other fields are tripping all over themselves to jump on the bandwagon but it's too late. Their players will never be better than our players. Their team's records will never equal our records.
We are bringing the horsepower back here, back where it belongs, one great player at a time. Looking to start your career or improve your chances of winning? There is only one place to do it, start to finish.
Don't believe us? Stop by and ask Adam Farej, he'll be in the snake having the time of his life, at The Badlandz.

What was your biggest influence to begin playing paintball? How intense the sport is, I love tenacity, I love an adrenalin rush that's why I got the nickname Angry Adam.
How has paintball changed your life? Paintball changed my life in thousands of ways. I have met some of my best friends. Henry Mitler, Big Louis, Goose, Damian Ryan, Jason Calef, Floyd,Nick Matthews, YA YA and Taco. These people all mean so much to me and have done a lot for meÖThe Raiders, and now I would have to say the biggest influence is just seeing all the young talent coming from the badlandz. It is great you have lil killers like Will Hennesy, Ben Kout ( Charmander) Sam Kout (Bulbasaur) these kids are getting really good and are so young, and I have grown so attached to these kids. Not to mention paintball pays the bills that I don't have.
Person that has been your biggest influence in paintball? There are too many people to list, but I would have to say Jason Calef (Towlie) this kid drives 4 hours every weekend to play paintball and has worked harder than anyone I know to get where he is today, and is not given enough credit. I think Towlie is one of the best players out there, even though half the time I hate him. The other person has to be Will Hennesy, even though he is 15, he has a lot of heart and I have to say is one of my best friends. He has the most heart and the most potential of all the lil kids at THE BADLANDZ. He will be the next up coming shock player.
What is your favorite paintball moment? Favorite paintball moment was when we won the Cross Hair challenge beating WORTHLESS AMBITION. We ran a clinic for those kidsÖI have never enjoyed beating a team so much. Also Chicago Open 2007 it was my first hometown tournament as a Professional and we beat the Russians and locked Floyd out of my house so he slept in his car.
What is your favorite position to play on the field? Snake.
What do you do in your other life non-paintball related? I am a student and as of October 6 2007 I became a Firefighter, it is what I always wanted to do. My dad is one so I followed in his footsteps. So I would like to say what up to the 07 candidate class, Chief Kucaba, Nora Gubbins's sister, GOLD SHFT, and LT. Alex Griff aka one way. But other than that I am a really out going person. When I am not at the firehouse or playing paintball I am with my good friend Rob Spoon and others.
What is your favorite Badlandz memory? HA HA to many. Watching Damian and Towlie Power bomb people threw tables. Tapping out Floyd. But the best was shooting Mike Suggs when I was in the dead box at a Badlandz series.
Why do you choose to call Badlandz home? This is where I got my start, winning my first tournament, to having actual fans and a family no one knows about. The Badlandz has done a lot for me from playing Nick Matthews in one-on-ones getting shot so many times in the hand that I couldn't even hold a gun because I was bleeding so much. I grew from here watching old school Aftershock fight each other on the field, realizing at the age of 15, I wanted to play on the team that wore blue and now I finally am, and I will never wear another color.
Any comments you would like to add in closing? I wanted to thank my teammates. With me going thru school I have missed some special events and practices and I when come to the practices, and I have 10 guys that don't care and just support me. Thanks. I want to thank Jermey Salm for what he has done for me, Ren and Robin for giving me the chance of a life time, and finally Damian Ryan, I hope one day we will be as good as friends as we used to be, and hopefully play on the same team so we can wear blue jerseys together again and carry out the MW line.
